Guided Benagil Cave tour
Exclusive Small Group Kayak Tour to Benagil Caves with 4K Photos
★ 4.9 · 1,765 traveller reviews (operator’s figures)
Overview
Launching from Praia do Carvalho near Carvoeiro, this premium small-group kayak tour is the most hands-on way to reach the cave. A certified guide leads the group along the base of the cliffs to the Algar de Benagil, where you drift beneath the skylight at water level and paddle across to smaller grottoes that boats cannot enter.
What sets it apart is the care taken with the details: dry bags to keep your things safe, lower-back seat supports for the two hours on the water, and free 4K photos taken by the guide so you can put the paddle down and simply look. Under the current rules you stay afloat inside the cave — landing on the beach there is no longer permitted — but a kayak still gets you closer, and gives you longer, than almost any boat.

Reviews
Paddling into the cave was the highlight of our trip. The guide, Diogo, took superb photos so we didn’t have to.

— Niklas, Sweden · Solo · 2026A good workout and worth it. Our small group meant plenty of time at the cave without a crowd around us.
